Business leader appetite for AI grows as HR anticipates changing landscape of work, G-P finds
The latest report on global AI use from G-P shows business leaders are using AI on a regular basis. UNLEASH digs into the report to find out more about the future of work enabled by AI.
News in Brief
Three in four global business leaders expect AI to be critical to the success of the organizations.
Many are now using AI on a regular basis and a significant number would look for new roles if AI use were not allowed.
UNLEASH speaks exclusively to VP and Head of HR at G-P, Laura Maffucci, to find out more about HR’s role in the AI-enabled future of work.
Business leaders around the world are increasingly using and betting on AI as the future of work.
That’s according to the latest report from G-P, (Globalization Partners), a global Employer of Record company.
G-P’s research among 2,850 executives across the US, Europe and Asia, found 91% of respondents are actively scaling up their AI initiatives and 74% report AI is critical to their company’s success.
Around three-quarters of executives use AI for more than 25% of their workload. Comparatively, just 1% of respondents said they don’t use AI at all.
Speaking about the report exclusively with UNLEASH, G-P’s VP and Head of HR Laura Maffucci shares: “G-P’s 2025 ‘AI at Work’ report found that 82% of U.S. HR leaders see AI as essential to the future success of both their function and their organization, and an astonishing 90% expect AI usage to increase at their workplace this year.”
Business leaders still cautious on AI decision-making
Despite the enthusiasm for AI use among executives, G-P also found certain elements of wariness around oversight and decision making.
More than half (51%) of executives said they would not trust AI to make financial investment or budgeting decisions, while only 3% of executives trust AI to make any decision.
G-P noted that respondents expressed concerns about the quality of the data being fed into AI models, as well as the trustworthiness and accuracy of AI outputs.
Almost all executives surveyed (92%) reported that their organization has approval processes in place to implement new AI solutions.
A similar percentage (94%) said they would accept AI monitoring of all their business activities if it guaranteed increased productivity.
However, more than one-third (35%) of executives said they would simply use AI technologies with or without authorization – a problem already being seen within wider workforces.
Meanwhile, nearly half (46%) of executives would look for a new role at a company encouraged the use of AI if their current job did not allow use.
HR no longer adapting but leading on AI
G-P also surveyed 500 HR professionals in the US and found almost half (46%) think AI supports how their organization operates by enhancing talent management through elements such as personalized training and managing performance.
Meanwhile, 74% of US HR leaders believe their own department is ahead of other functions when it comes to adapting to AI initiatives.
There is also an anticipation of the impact AI will have in the short-term, with 90% of HR professionals anticipating AI to ramp up in their workplace during 2025.
Maffucci tells UNLEASH that HR is “no longer simply adapting to AI”.
“As a function, we are actively leveraging it to redefine how we attract, engage and manage talent,” Maffucci says.
By continuing to embrace AI, we’re not just streamlining operations and incrementally increasing productivity – we’re unlocking the capacity for HR to be a more strategic business partner, drive innovation and shape the future of work.”
