Led by industry experts, this webinar provides invaluable insights and actionable strategies to optimize your remote work approach, pushing you to thrive now, and in the future.
As the conversation on where people work stabilizes, it's time for companies to focus now on how their people work, and what they're doing to get this right.
We're thrilled to share freshly released data and insights that explore how organizations are managing remote working realities and where gaps still lie in aligning staff expectations with business and hiring needs.
UNLEASH is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDC) for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP recertification activities.
“International hiring is one of the most critical aspects of an HR leader’s remit now…It’s core to many leaders’ business strategy across the company after COVID-19, as the world of work continues to change.
“Some of those changes cannot be ‘put back into the box’.”
That’s the view from Atlas VP Strategy Jagnoor Singh.
In a 60-minute webinar, exclusive to UNLEASH, Singh’s insights at the Employee of Record vendor are woven into wider market analysis from HR industry analyst and Principal Analyst, Advisor, and Managing Partner at 3SixityInsights Pete A. Tiliakos.
Labor shortages: Our research shows that 59% of US business and 71% of UK businesses now view international hiring as ‘crucial’ to fulfill their organization’s core strategy. How should a HR leader scope their plans to adapt to differences in culture and legal compliance across borders?
Organizational change: 62% of businesses we surveyed said that gaining access to specific skill sets was their most important reason for hiring internationally. How could this power organizational change to adapt to current challenges and stay ahead of the competition?
Untapped talent: Which parts of the world are the next “talent hotspots” for international hiring? And what do you need to know?
“Remote work is not a privilege”: Singh and Tiliakos share their thoughts on “the need for a change in mindset in leaders” to adapt to the new world of work and prosper.
HR Leaders: ‘Don’t alienate access to global talent’
“In order for companies to attract specific skills, and expand into new markets, international hiring is key and will only continue to grow.” Analyst Pete Tiliakos references global data from the World Economic Forum that revealed the concerns of employees on being held back competitively, due to the global skills gap.
“This aligns with what we can see in the report we’re discussing specifically from HR Leaders…One of the problems that we see is I think a lot of organizations believe that if they fundamentally just do more of what they did in the past, that everything is going to be OK. And the reality is that’s not true.”
Both Singh and Tiliakos referred to a need for a “mindset shift” at the leadership level.
‘The right skills at the right time’
Tiliakos added that HR leaders should issue an “urgent call” to their fellow leaders in their businesses.
“The message is you’ve got to be much more flexible and creative even as an employer now, to start saying ‘Look we recognize that we might not be able to find what we need within 50 or 100 miles of our HQ. We’ve got to start looking at some other channels and means of getting to those skills, or we’re being passed up.’”
In his view, this is the core driver behind advocating for hiring change that will do the most to overcome what he calls the corporate “angst around remote working”.
Both speakers acknowledged that this challenge of how to manage expectations and productivity in a hybrid workforce is not going away any time soon.
“But companies have to explore remote options, or they will risk losing talent.
“Think about your customer view: Your customers are diverse, and in employee talent, remember, diversity is not geo-located.
“You can try to align your workforce to the customers you are serving. There is a huge business driver to partnering with an EoR advisor to help you get set up.”
He added: “My final point is that remote work is not a privilege, not anymore. Choose remote work because of a business need…That will set you up for success.”
