Be reminded about the importance of ‘work from anywhere’ before Atlas show how their SaaS approach enables this at UNLEASH World.
With UNLEASH’s 12th-13th October conference less than a month away, and the summer slowdown already a distant memory, this on-demand session looks at how to become truly global, flexible, and pioneering when it comes to recruitment.
Giving a small flavor of what hiring insights to expect at two Atlas-led sessions in Paris during October, Jon Kennard, Editorial Content Manager at UNLEASH is joined by Rick Hammell, CEO and Founder at Atlas, Melanie Pizzey, CEO at Global Payroll Association, and Anna Shevchenko, Head of HR Technology at Wargaming to showcase what highlights, insight, and interactivity to expect at this very exciting conference.
A flexible organization is a competitive one due to the ability to adapt quickly to the fast-changing environment.
Anna Shevchenko, Head of HR Technology at Wargaming
UNLEASH World is coming… Will you be there?
Although Hammell will be co-hosting two sessions at UNLEASH World in Paris – a product announcement on October 12th at 13:50 and a roundtable on how to navigate borderless work on October 13th at 14:00 – he used the opening of this preview webinar session to give some toplines on how employers can improve their business, in a world of work which is increasingly disrupted, structureless and borderless, by using pioneering hiring techniques.
Without giving it all away before UNLEASH World kicks off, Atlas’ CEO spoke to the fact that employers need to be increasingly flexible as employee demands change and remote work impacts what organizations are expected to offer. It’s this step change around employee expectations – increasingly, top talent might want to work from a country where your organization doesn’t even have an on-the-ground presence – that Global Payroll Association’s Pizzey explained employers need to understand deeply, getting to grips with how this impacts legislative responsibilities, administration, and use of technology.
Because this is a preview webinar, this fascinating, fast-changing, and crucially important topic will be spoken to more during the sessions Atlas hosts at UNLEASH World.

With the peak of the pandemic over, many organizations are looking at how they can move past disruption to business as usual. Yet, an in-webinar poll revealed that many attendees were from organizations that were growing despite the pandemic: 60% of those listening were operating in businesses on the rise. As such, growth is something that many in HR want to understand how to support.
Organizational growth is something that both Hammell and Pizzey experienced during the pandemic. Despite disruptions, they were both in organizations that were able to deliver for clients based on their insight into rapidly changing areas. As such, they had insights and warnings to share. For example: although they agreed growth is a good thing, for many employers it does mean keeping sight of the need to be compliant, especially if rising revenues and customer bases mean a headcount expansion in new countries.
Crucially, any growth also means temperature checking the company culture and ensuring that people feel a meaningful connection to the organization when they join. In this way, businesses can benefit from the diversity new hires bring.
Another speaker at UNLEASH World was also on the webinar: Anna Shevchenko, Head of HR Technology the award-winning online games publisher Wargaming, who oversees a technology team that looks to improve HR processes, analytics, and flexibility.
Giving attendees a sneak preview of the topics she will speak about in Paris, Shevchenko wanted to impress on the audience that flexibility should be top of mind for HR leaders if they want to drive a competitive organization that embraces change and is collaborative, innovative, productive, and agile.
Here, she argued that making the right technology choices can underpin this type of organization. For example, Shevchenko explained how at Wargaming they have taken a flexible approach to hiring by having a continuously updated hiring plan, are open to remote employees, use employers of record, and support career mobility, too. Her organization is also taking this approach to other areas central to HR practice too, taking a flexible and personalized approach to reward, performance management, development, and feedback.
Where appropriate, technology underpins Wargaming’s HR tack. For feedback, surveys and pulse surveys are sent to staff. And, when it comes to understanding employee behaviors, Wargaming is planning to use AI and machine learning in order to help create actionable insights and forecasts.
However, this can only be done successfully if an agile and flexible design process is used: with HR understanding that simple, iterative design processes, employee experience-centricity, and speed of delivery are the key facets that will allow the function to deliver flexible technology solutions that work both for the business and for the workforce, too.
Here, Shevchenko added, HR should always be open to working with platform providers and employers of record to ensure its own flexibility and ability to deliver. By using this approach, as Hammell concluded, HR can then drive organizational performance that delivers growth, efficiency, and scalability. Exactly what the business needs.
