June has started with a bang for the HR tech world.
Hot on the heels of UKG acquiring payroll innovator Immedis, Fountain, a leading global applicant tracking software (ATS) company focused on the hourly, frontline workforce, has announced it has bought Clevy for an undisclosed sum.
Headquartered in France, Clevy is a global conversational AI tech company that aims to supercharge the employee experience for its 350+ customers, which include brands like Danone, Sanofi and Capgemini.
Talking about the deal, Salim Jernite, CEO of Clevy (who will now serve as head of worker experience at Fountain), shared: “At Clevy, we’re passionate about simplifying HR processes through AI and technology and creating a better experience for all workers.
“In teaming up with Fountain, who shares our commitment to innovation and customer success, we’re excited to help revolutionize how hourly employers connect with top talent and engage with them for the long term.”
Fountain bets on AI
As well as supporting Fountain’s growth plans in Europe, the aim of Fountain’s acquisition of Clevy is to leverage AI and automation to revolutionize hiring, and make it better, easier and more efficient. This will help strengthen Fountain’s position in the crowded ATS market.
Fountain’s CEO Sean Behr tells UNLEASH: “We believe the Clevy team’s unique expertise and energy will dramatically accelerate our product roadmap and growth plans.
“It would be irresponsible towards both our mission and shareholders to not take advantage of an opportunity that will allow us to shave considerable time off of our development in AI, HR integrations, and future products.”
In terms of the impact on customers, Behr notes: “Fountain customers will benefit from a refined user experience of our existing AI systems, accelerated research, and development of our technology, and ultimately, expanded product offerings.”
Ultimately, this acquisition builds on Fountain’s general focus on AI and automation in recruitment. Back in March, the tech company launched Fountain AI.
The idea was to streamline the recruitment process for recruiters, and simplify it for candidates by being very user-friendly and mobile-optimized.
Stay tuned to see what’s next for Fountain.
