“This industry is amazing because people share their experiences and that doesn’t often happen in other areas of tech that I cover. HR practitioners share what their frustrations are with their technology…so attend the conferences, attend the user groups, network with this industry.
“UNLEASH is a great example of that; you can go and learn so much and you can figure out work arounds just by meeting people in person and having those conversations.” – Madeleine Laurano, Founder & Chief Analyst, Aptitude Research.
This quote was picked from one of our January webinars – ‘Unleashing HR in 2023: Everything You Need to Know’. If you are interested in hearing Madeleine’s other recommendations you can watch it on demand using the link above.
The fast evolving HR ecosystem
To say that the pandemic expanded the role of HR is an understatement. The HR role hasn’t so much evolved as mutated into an entirely new function. New technologies, cultural shifts and economic disruptions are redefining the present and future of work.
The world has new expectations of business, of employers, and they in turn have new expectations of their employees. Change is everywhere, it is constant and it is unstoppable.
New social guidelines are being drawn up about what it means to lead a civic life and what it means to be accountable on an individual and organizational level. These economic and social transitions are being absorbed by HR. As such, HR’s mandate has expanded exponentially and is continuing to expand at a universal rate.
The new HR
HR professionals now have to understand their human capital, while operationalizing human resources. They have to understand and orchestrate new processes, new technologies, new cultural practices.
Much like orchestra conductors, today’s HR professionals have to bring text on a page to life, communicating their own refined sense of the work through a series of strategies that will be implemented across the length and breadth of their organizations.
And much like conductors, their ability to be successful depends on their ability to indicate the right tempo to their shareholders and employees.
The HR sharing economy
The one size fits all approach is dated and irrelevant. Curiosity, nimbleness, an openness to absorb, experiment and then share those insights are what this ecosystem thrives on. In the midst of all this change, the HR community is uniquely well placed to expand and evolve due to this pre-existing culture of sharing.
Ever been to a UNLEASH event? Within hours you will see this tribe mentality play out as analysts seek out other analysts, tech personnel seek out and congregate around other tech professionals.
This HR sharing economy is prevalent and global and although HR professionals regularly share their experiences and insights with one another, this tribe mentality mostly goes unnoticed, at least on an editorial level.
Case studies, new insights and technologies are the lingua franca of the HR world. Tapping into these innovations is paramount to your ability to unlock new opportunities for your company. And this is a service we provide.
Here at UNLEASH, we hold a privileged, longstanding position within the HR ecosystem as facilitators and hosts. We have considerable media and editorial leverage and we are using that leverage to scale and propel the HR industry forward.
The companies and profiles leading the Road to Vegas charge have substantial experiences and predictions to share. This is your opportunity to assimilate those insights and hear from experts and sessions you might otherwise miss at the main event.
