Working from anywhere saw a meteoric rise during the COVID-19 pandemic. The shackles of the office are truly off and candidates and employees don’t seem to want to return.
Localyze empowers employers with the ability to hire from anywhere and manage the process seamlessly through its software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
CEO and co-founder of Localyze Hanna Asmussen discussed with TechCrunch the current climate organizations are facing: “I think a lot of companies right now try to find some sort of middle ground where they don’t say you can work in every country worldwide.
“What we’ve seen with our customer base is that they try to find a middle ground where they say these are the ten countries where we have an office or a hub…and then they allow employee to choose one of those.”
This middle ground is clearly a pain point as Localyze has managed to attract $35 million in Series B funding. This round of funding was led by General Catalyst and comes just over a year since the company raised $12 million in its Series A.
Growth at Localyze
Localyze has expanded across Europe in the last year, and has increased its revenue by six times in the same period. The company’s customers include Pleo, Wefox, and Remote.
Asmussen told TechCrunch that the company now intends to move to larger clients as well. To do this Localyze will expand into new territories including the US and Asia.
Asmussen noted: “In the next two years we’ll try to get as much global expansion as possible — because, in terms of customers, typically the next scale of customer they are already in at least 10-15 different countries so I think the US is already getting us to the next stage but then also targeting the first markets in APAC (Asia-Pacific) — probably from mid next year onwards if everything goes right.”
In order to make this expansion a success the company will be investing in its research and development teams while broadening its sales reach. Asmussen has stated that a focus on user experience will be essential in the company’s development.
Of course, there will be competition in these new markets, but Localyze believes its automation features will set it apart.
Time will tell if that’s the case, but Localyze clearly has its eyes set on the world.
