Meta is discontinuing Workplace from Meta, meaning the business will now transition to use Workvivo by Zoom.
Workvivo will therefore become Meta’s only preferred migration partner in a customer transition that will happen over the next two years.
Workvivo was launched in 2017, and acquired Zoom last year. Now it powers the employee experience at global companies, including Amazon, Bupa, Ryanair, Virgin Group, and Lululemon.
In an exclusive conversation with UNLEASH, John Goulding, CEO and Founder of Workvivo by Zoom explained that this is “big news” for the employee experience platform market. He added: “This space has seen a lot of change in the last few years with new players and maturing solutions. This news represents a further consolidation of the market.
“One thing that’s clear from the response to the news: organizations have a strong need for effective employee experience and engagement tools.
“Our focus right now is supporting the Workplace customers through this transition and empowering them with the information to figure out their next steps.”
The migration plan
As the transition will create an impact on customers across the globe, Workvivo will provide migration tools to make the process as smooth as possible. In doing so, Workvivo will offer free implementation services to support businesses.
Goulding acknowledges that although news may be disruptive for current Workplace users, the business is “excited about the opportunity to support and help them,” and that it’s a “top priority” to make the transition as “frictionless as possible.”
He added: “Meta has made a huge impact in this market, and we believe that Workvivo is the natural choice for Workplace from Meta customers to transition their employee experience platform.
We put our customers first, and this will be no different for the Workplace from Meta customers. We are excited to welcome Workplace from Meta customers into our incredible customer community and see the amazing things they can do with Workvivo.”
To achieve this, Workvivo has streamlined employee communication into an app to unify engagement, intranet and measurement features to promote a thriving workplace culture.
By adopting the platform, Meta’s employees will be given a voice, while also having a better means to stay connected and engaged.
“Since Workvivo joined the Zoom family, we’ve seen how powerful this platform is at engaging workforces and bringing culture to life — especially for frontline employees who may not have a desk or even an email address,” said Eric S Yuan, CEO and Founder of Zoom.
Concluding, Yuan expressed his enthusiasm for the deal, stating: “Workvivo has seen momentous growth as organizations around the world are increasingly prioritizing the employee experience.
“We are excited to support Workplace from Meta’s customers and help them reach their goals of reaching and engaging employees – whether they’re desk or frontline workers.”
