SmartSuite, the work management platform provider which aims to redefine how organizations operate and collaborate, has raised $13 million in Series A funding.
The round was led by Canapi Ventures, with participation from Sorenson Capital and High Alpha.
It follows a prior $25 million founder-led seed investment, brining total investment to date in SmartSuite to $38 million.
SmartSuite has developed a unified, no-code solution in order to address legacy workflow processes still in use within some organizations by combining project management, process automation, document collaboration, and real-time team coordination into a unified platform.
“We were drawn to SmartSuite’s ability to eliminate complexity from inherently complex processes, such as Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), for enterprises and financial institutions of all sizes,” commented Walker Forehand, President and General Partner at Canapi Ventures.
“With over 50,000 users, SmartSuite’s rapid growth makes it clear that companies across industries are seeking a modernized work operating system. SmartSuite’s no-code approach is reshaping how teams collaborate, plan, and execute—all within a single, intuitive platform.”
Fueling a global expansion strategy
Established in 2019 by Jon and Tara Darbyshire and Peter Novosel, the founders of Archer Technologies, SmartSuite now counts Apple Bank, Credit One Bank, UCLA, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Sunday Riley, and UC Berkeley among its 5,000 customers.
Jon Darbyshire, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartSuite, tells UNLEASH that the Series A funding will enable SmartSuite to fuel its global expansion and “removing fragmented workflows, spreadsheets and outdated tools.”
SmartSuite’s platform includes pre-built workflow templates for integration across business operations and across existing technology stacks, such as Slack, Microsoft, Google, HubSpot, and Salesforce.
For HR leaders, this means access to a more robust toolset designed to streamline workflows for personnel management, hiring, onboarding, learning management, and more,” Darbyshire says.
“Our platform not only enhances their day-to-day operations, but helps improve companywide collaboration to easily manage business processes.”
