UNLEASH America: You have to have the end in mind for successfully blending data into performance management
As we set our sights on Las Vegas for UNLEASH America 2025, the editorial team is revisiting some of the most insightful HR leaders who took the stage at last year’s International Festival of HR. Performance management remains a top business priority for leaders and managers, and there are plenty of invaluable takeaways from this interview with Senior Journalist John Brazier. Hear from Kim Shockley, VP of HR Tech and Automation at HP, as she shares her expertise on the intersection of performance, data, and analytics.
At UNLEASH, we’re privileged to sit at the crossroads of pivotal conversations for the world of HR, driving innovation, inspiration, and meaningful change.
But as much as we honor the past year, our focus is firmly on the future.
We can’t wait to bring together HR leaders and tech innovators at UNLEASH America 2025, May 6-8, where we’ll continue to champion our vision of being the most loved HR and HR tech marketplace in the world 🌎.
On stage at UNLEASH America 2024, HP’s VP of HR Tech and Automation at HP Kim Shockley delved into the art and science of performance management – not just in terms of measurement, but how HR leaders can use technology to fuel performance.
Speaking to UNLEASH Senior Journalist John Brazier in an exclusive interview, Shockley details how the tech giant uses data and analytics to drive organizational performance that isn’t “just a process about getting a rating and communicating some feedback on a once-a-year basis.”
While data analytics needs to be at the core of what HR leaders and organizations are doing, they also need to “start with the end in mind of what are you trying to accomplish.”
So understanding what are the things that an employee needs to fuel their performance? What are those impacts? Providing that information to the managers in the moment they’re having a conversation is one of those ways that you use data and analytics to drive impact,” Shockley explains.
