Jon Kennard: welcome to a very special episode of UNLEASHcast. Today I’m talking to head of conference production Tessa Sykes about our upcoming UNLEASH America event. Tessa, how are you?
Tessa Sykes: Really good, thank you. How are you, Jon?
JK: Good, yeah. So, we’re giving you a bit of detail about UNLEASH America, which is happening on the 25th and 26th of May, coming up very soon. Over in Las Vegas. Tell us about a little bit about the venue that it’s going to be held in.
TS: This year in May, we’re really excited to be having the event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it should be probably 30 degrees (85 Fahrenheit), at least. So, a good time to visit.
JK: Definitely. Have you ever been to Las Vegas before? It’s a it’s pretty full-on energetic place, isn’t it? I’m really looking forward to it. And yeah, we’ve given ourselves a bit more time with the event. And we’re focusing on the four pillars of content. And the way that the event is kind of programmed and laid out is to reflect these four areas. So, we’ve got HR tech and transformation, talent and recruitment, learning and skills, and future of work. Can you tell us anything about the agenda, the speakers, to map against those four different areas at the event?
TS: Yes, we’re really excited. On our future of work mainstage we’ll be welcoming award-winning economist Mark Blyth, who’s going to be delivering our opening keynote on the first day of the event. We’ve also got the CHRO panel with Jennifer Christie, who’s the chief people officer from Bolt, and we’ve got Christy Pambianchi, who’s executive vice president and CEO of Intel. So all those big names are gonna be kicking off the morning on the first day.
JK: We’ve got some really, really impressive names at this event; this is the way that UNLEASH does it, isn’t it? It’s the first time I’ve been involved in an UNLEASH event, but I’ve been around and known about them for a long time, but they’re going for some really big hitters. So it’s going to be pretty exciting, I reckon.
TS: Yeah. I think people always look out for the keynotes at UNLEASH, and we’re working so hard behind the scenes at the moment. But we’re actually going to have three or four keynotes in Vegas. So we’re going to be looking to confirm those other names in the next couple of weeks.
JK: So, tell us a bit about some of the brands that have are involved in partnership with UNLEASH for the upcoming event.
TS: We’ve got some some great brands taking part across all of our four main pillar stages. So we’ve got Panasonic, Nestle, Experian, we’ve got Coca Cola, YouTube, Novartis, L’Oreal, PayPal, Netflix, Airbnb, and Twitter, just to name a few.
JK: That’s not bad at all, is it? And, there’s so much more other stuff going on. Besides as well, at the event the Chad and Cheese podcast are going to be there. We’re going to be there capturing other interviews as well. So there’s so much going on. Really, really excited about it. And tickets are selling fast. What’s the latest with that side of things?
TS: Book now to avoid selling out? It’s probably my bit of key advice.
JK: Definitely. Well, it’s clear that there’s loads more to do but loads more going on when we get there. So – really excited to see you at the event! Thanks so much for talking to UNLEASHcast today.
TS: Thanks, Jon. Great to speak and look forward to seeing everyone in Vegas in May.
