UNLEASH World 2024: HR Has to Believe What They Do Is Just as Important as Sales, Marketing and Product
Peter Lynch, CPO at Cardinal Group Management, sat down with UNLEASH Chief Reporter Allie Nawrat at UNLEASH World 2024 for an exclusive interview discussing the importance of authentic leadership.
Following his session on stage in Paris, where he explained his vision of authentic leadership, Lynch sat down with UNLEASH to talk about what that means for HR leaders that are focused on AI and enticing former employees to ‘boomerang’ back to their organization.
At the center of it all, he tells UNLEASH, is a very simply fact: “Trust is I think the most important element of great leadership.
“If you are authentic and real, and you challenge and help people, you create engagement and team members who love what they do,” Lynch says.
Considering how HR leaders that are struggling to secure a seat at the C-Suite table, Lynch says this is often a matter of conviction in the importance of HR.
“You have to believe that what you do is just as important as the sales groups, the marketing groups, the product groups, the operations groups,” he details.
What we do is we manage some of the most important capital out there and at Cardinal we manage $100 million assets, but I’m telling you that doesn’t work if we don’t have human assets that love what they do and want to be there.”
