Despite a looming recession, some businesses are managing to thrive. For instance, the pandemic saw healthcare companies increase profits as the services they provide became increasingly paramount.
Access Health is one healthcare-based business that has experienced this upward trend. The end-to-end revenue management and IT services company that tailors its tools to healthcare providers now has 25,000 employees.
While this may sound like a standard headcount for a profitable enterprise, Access Health has doubled its number of employees over the last 15 months.
Shaji Ravi, founder, president, and managing director of Access Healthcare, discussed the growth in the company: “It seems like only yesterday when I sat with the founding team in a coffee shop to develop the blueprint of the company. The last 12 years have been eventful; we have learned and innovated through the journey.
“I am grateful to our clients for their faith in our capabilities and our employees for everything they do.
“Our digital solutions portfolio is helping our clients achieve transformational business outcomes right from the word go.”
How development impacts HR
Although having a desired product is essential for any business, growth is enabled through HR.
Speaking about the difficulties the HR team has faced at Access Health, Jacob Jesuroon, SVP of HR at Access Healthcare, commented: “The last two years have challenged our hiring and training teams, and they have created the industry’s foremost organic growth engine.”
To achieve rapid onboarding, Jesuroon noted Access Health “quickly pivoted our hiring and training model to a virtual mode during COVID and utilized technology to shift to self-paced learning tools”.
Training and hiring during the pandemic have been a challenge for many organizations. As a result, digital onboarding is paramount. This requires organizations to create a digital culture, robust training courses, and plenty of touch points to keep employees engaged.
In addition to technology, reaching suitable candidates can be a challenge. To combat this, hiring teams need to look at a broad spectrum of job sites and ensure that the talent they need are seeing the positions.
Using a variety of job boards can also help with diversity, equity, and inclusion (D,E&I) goals.
Concluding on the success of HR and the company, Jesuroon said: “The unblemished track record of supporting our clients in the face of personal adversity for many of our employees through this time underscores our resilience and focus.”
