On stage at in Las Vegas last year, Simon Taylor, Senior Director Talent & Organizational Effectiveness at Gap, addressed how HR leaders can balance power dynamics between employers and employees, and why this is not a “zero sum game”.
Sitting down with UNLEASH Senior Journalist, John Brazier, for an exclusive video interview, Taylor explains why viewing the relationship between organizations and the workforce as a power dynamic can also be a misnomer – instead, it can be viewed as “symbiotic relationship”.
Taylor also details the important role that company culture plays in this dynamic and why organizational transparency is a much-needed element in improving workforce performance.
It is a necessity to become really a transparent organization as much as possible. I think we’re seeing that with the demographic shifts in the organization at large, globally, it’s the younger generations that are increasingly expecting authenticity, transparency, and it obviously connects into purpose,” he tells UNLEASH.
