UNLEASH America: HR leaders, here’s what you should be worried about from an economic perspective
As we set our sights on Las Vegas for UNLEASH America 2025, let's revisit some of the great keynotes from last year’s International Festival of HR. Economist Mark Blyth sat down with Editor-in-Chief Nima Sherpa Green to chat through what HR leaders need to prioritize in this volatile economic climate.
We can’t wait to bring together HR leaders and tech innovators at the International Festival of HR in Las Vegas, May 6-8.
Want to know what to expect? The Editorial team has been taking a look at our some of our interviews at UNLEASH America 2024.
Following his keynote, Brown University’s Mark Blyth sat down with UNLEASH Editor-in-Chief Nima Sherpa Green to give his expert economist advice to HR leaders.
Blyth is clear: “The economy’s always volatile.”
Where HR leaders must prioritize is on “finding the right talent and retaining the right talent”.
“Any tools that can essentially optimize that function across enterprise” are far better than point solutions.
When it comes to AI, Blyth tells UNLEASH: “It’s going to take longer to find out if AI is anything more than a hype cycle”.
Most likely, AI will be more than just hype, but Blyth shares: “Don’t be too tough on yourself if you’re not on top of everything all time”.
At the end of the day, everybody is just making it up as they go along.
He tells HR teams to make sure they’re not just “constantly rebuilding your stack for the sake of it”. Instead, figure out the use cases that work for you, and design your AI strategy on that basis.
