Future-oriented businesses, unlike traditional ones with established value propositions, can increase market value by demonstrating breakthroughs through continuous innovation. In this business context, human capital is crucial for success.

This idea was the starting point for addressing SK‘s agenda: “the pursuit of both business transformation and people’s happiness for sustainable survival in the future.” SK pursues both value creation (economic and social) and happiness for employees and stakeholders. As a result, SK Group established a groundbreaking organization at the company level, bringing together future research, human capital, and change management functions in one cohesive direction. This approach led to the launch of SK’s shared infrastructure, mySUNI, which accelerates “transformation through people.”

In 2020, mySUNI‘s first year coincided with the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic, yet it aligned well with SK Group”s mySUNI platform strategy. This accomplishment highlighted the importance of skill-based HR and ongoing drivers for change, and we continued to make breakthroughs. The challenges we’ve faced during our deep change journey are likely familiar to those implementing HR Transformation; this session will address how we tackled these challenges in both the pre- and post-COVID environment, including key learnings.

This session will discuss the following topics:

  • Methods and tools for promoting transformation: What are the advantages and limitations of using platform-based microlearning?
  • Organizational capability to adapt and execute transformation: What skills should the company or its employees prioritize, and what approach can help everyone embody them?
  • Employee experience: What changes to HR policies and systems are necessary to empower employees engaging in change to lead their career development?
  • Driving force for continued transformation: What is the key to finding the change agenda, engaging management and employees, and creating outcomes?
