Dave is a partner in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and has practiced employment law there for nearly 30 years. He has led the Firm’s employment counseling practice group for more than 12 years, and focuses on providing strategic, proactive solutions that empower HR professionals to navigate complex employment law challenges while fostering compliance and reducing litigation risks.
Dave collaborates with HR leaders to develop innovative approaches to employment matters, keeping them informed on the latest legal trends and best practices. He manages several specialty teams that deliver counseling solutions to clients, and oversees Seyfarth’s nationwide Survey Center and Employment Law Report that track federal, state and local employment law developments. His expertise includes workforce restructuring, pre-employment testing, validation and AI-powered hiring solutions, global pay equity, and leave of absence and disability accommodation management – key areas where HR professionals seek strategic guidance.
Dave has supported organizations in designing innovative tools and systems that enhance employee engagement, refine hiring practices, and optimize alternative worker arrangements. He also leads management training programs and executive coaching sessions through Seyfarth At Work, including anti-harassment, leave management, and positive employee relations training. In addition to his counseling practice, Dave has extensive experience in U.S. employment litigation and traditional labor law, representing clients in federal and state cases involving discrimination, harassment, disability accommodation, and wrongful discharge. He regularly advises on systemic agency investigations and large-scale claims, including those related to hiring practices, pay discrimination, and reasonable accommodation processes.
