As the Executive Vice President, Chief Innovation and People Officer at CarMax, Diane is responsible for enhancing company performance, innovation, and sustainable growth through leading-edge practices for products and personnel. She prioritizes an exceptional associate experience and promotes innovation among associates, overseeing CarMax’s product organization, talent, human resources, and total rewards functions. She has significantly advanced the company’s corporate social responsibility by establishing a new team and VP leadership role in 2022. Since joining CarMax in 2003, she became the company’s first Chief Human Resources Officer in 2017 and the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in 2021. Before CarMax, Diane was a partner at McDermott, Will & Emery. She holds a BA in economics and international relations from Tufts University and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
