Elise is Google’s Director of People Operations, leading the Office of the Chief People Officer. She is a global HR leader and business partner with over 18+ years of diverse HR experience across technology, sales, investment banking, and legal sectors. Elise joined Google in 2016 as a Senior HR Business Partner and spent time partnering with some of Google’s most senior business leaders. She also led a team of HR generalists and led large scale cross-functional projects focused on transformation and impact.
As the Director of the CPO team, Elise leads teams to support and execute on the CPO’s strategic initiatives and vision, having to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking and consistently adapting to changing business and external needs.
Before Google, Elise was Director of Human Resources at Morgan Stanley, supporting Risk Management, Legal, and Government Regulations divisions across North America. She partnered with senior leaders, managers, and employees on the full employee lifecycle, inclusive of talent engagement, development, and retention.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, she was a HR Generalist and Business Partner at Allens Linklaters, a global commercial law firm based in Australia. Elise was the HR Lead for Asia, and primary HR business partner for the Melbourne Tax & Commercial Litigation & Disputes practices.
Elise holds a Master’s in Human Resources and Employment Relations from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management and Marketing from Edith Cowan University, Australia. She remains active in HR industry events and enjoys the opportunity to share her expertise while continuing to learn from others.
Outside of work, Elise enjoys physical fitness including boxing and weight training, and is training for her first Hyrox. Elise loves to travel internationally (most recently a safari in Kenya), and spending time with her loved ones. She is based in New York City and is originally from Perth, Australia.
