Maureen is the Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, Managing Vice President of People Technology and Divisional CIO at Capital One.
Maureen’s career has been devoted to harnessing the power of technology to improve people’s lives—driving innovation with humanity. Maureen has a deep passion for people, culture and technology and believes the intersection of the three can help manifest her personal motto of using “tech for good.”
Maureen is also the Accountable Executive for Blacks in Tech and is actively involved in Capital One’s other business resource groups, like Women in Tech, Hispanics in Tech, VOICES (Black Employees Network) and empowHER (Women’s Network). She is member of Capital One’s Tech Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) Council and is on the AdvisoryBoard for the Black business resource group (Voices). Prior to joining Capital One more than 3 years ago, she led IT Strategy and Digital Transformation for Verizon Media, directing global technical teams and acquisitions in the Americas, Europe, Israel, Singapore, Japan and India.Maureen holds several patents. Her expertise is in tech transformations, enterprise cloud migration, and innovative employee experiences.
Maureen uses her platform as a leader and a Black woman in tech to inspire, develop, advocate for and lift up other underrepresented talent. She has been deeply involved in a variety of diversity in STEM initiatives, especially getting diverse young individuals exposed to and excited about tech.
Maureen is involved in numerous community board roles and initiatives, including:Year Up; Girls for A Change Board President; Black Girl Magic Summit and Girls Who Code.
Maureen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from North Florida, a Masters degree in Information Science, and a CIO certification from George Washington University.
