Peter is the former Chief Human Resources Officer of Johnson & Johnson. Under Peter’s leadership, J&J was regularly recognized as one of the best places to work and one of the most admired companies in the world.   

During his 14 years as CHRO, Peter led the human capital strategy for the company. Over the course of his tenure, more than 80% of senior roles globally were filled with diverse, succession-planned leaders. Peter also expanded employee benefits by increasing paid time off for leaves such as military, parental, bereavement, volunteerism, and mental well-being.   

Peter oversaw two CEO successions and worked closely with the Board of Directors on shaping the compensation strategies for the company. Peter was the Chair of the Pension & Benefits Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee.   

Peter was involved in numerous acquisitions and divestitures and was instrumental in the separation of J&J’s Consumer unit into a publicly traded company (Kenvue). He served on the Board of Directors during the first year of the spin-off.    

Prior to joining J&J, Peter worked in private equity with KKR and healthcare with Bristol-Myers Squibb. He was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources (2017) and recognized as HR Executive of the Year (2022) and a Top 100 HR Tech Influencer (2024). 

Peter earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior (University of Delaware), MA in Industrial Psychology (Fairleigh Dickinson) and BA in Psychology (Providence College). His insights have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Harvard Business Review and Human Resource Executive. 

Peter is on the Tufts University Board of Trustees in Boston and is currently focusing his work on corporate governance, private equity, C-suite leadership, the future of work, applications of AI, and digital upskilling.
