Stephen is responsible for the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy of YouTube. He works directly with senior leadership and Employee Resource Groups to ensure that YouTube is the most inclusive company to work for. He has been at YouTube for 5 years. He was previously with Goldman Sachs for 23 years, with his last role there as the head of diversity in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining the diversity world, he spent eight years (1993-2001) at Goldman Sachs in the technology division, building trading surveillance systems, and technology solutions for private clients. He also dedicated three years in the compliance division, primarily running large projects responding to the changes in regulations in Europe from 2002-2005. In addition to his work, he is on the board of Community Business, an Asia Pacific non-profit that runs the HK LGBTQ Corporate Equality Index. He was also previously on the Women on Boards Advisory Council in Hong Kong. In 2021, Stephen was named one of the ‘50 Impactful DE&I Leaders Driving Change in 2021’ and on the ‘Attitude 101’ list of LGBTQ+ Trailblazers.
