What If We Truly Unleashed HR?

The global pandemic has given us a new start date for a “next” HR function – and provided us with some insights on what we, as HR leaders, need to accomplish before it takes root.

• First, we must commit to the fully human organization, offloading mundane responsibilities and ensuring every worker is empowered to align with the strategic goals of the organization.
• Next, we need to continually deliver the mindset, skillset, and toolset required to create value for the organization’s stakeholders. We would start with a growth mindset; a constantly updating 21st-century skillset; and a toolkit with a range of “exponential” techniques and technologies.
• Finally, we must be the drivers of purpose, simultaneously embracing both a seismic generational shift toward meaning and an ongoing transformation into organizations that can both do well and do good.

When we understand and prioritize these points, we’ll know we have unleashed HR.
