Jake Shannon is the Director of HR for AWS Industries at Amazon Web Services. Jake leads the cross-functional HR team that supports all of our industry verticals in the areas of talent acquisition, employee development/training, performance management, employee relations, performance management, etc.
Having joined AWS in 2013, Jake has supported various AWS Engineering, Global Support, and Sales and Marketing teams and has been based in Seattle WA, Cape Town South Africa, and Munich Germany. Prior to joining AWS, Jake held various HR and marketing roles at Merck for 17 years.
Jake holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Rutgers University, a Master’s degree in Adult Education / Instructional Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
