Jane N. Fedoretz is a change agent and culture architect with a history of effective leadership. She has dedicated her career to leading corporate cultures that produce transformational change. Jane is fascinated by the future of the workplace and the role that culture plays in it. She is the Executive Vice President of People, Culture and Chief Administrative Officer at TransAlta—a leader in clean electricity headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. And her role gives her a driver’s seat in a rapidly changing industry and organization.At TransAlta, she has championed a thriving and future-forward organization driven by a mission to energize the future. Her education and experience span several industries—including social work, legal and executive leadership. After receiving a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary, she continued her education with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta. Before joining TransAlta, her experience included legal and senior leadership roles in the oil and gas industry. Jane received several awards and accolades in 2023, including being named a Woman of Distinction at the 2023 Canadian HR Awards and one of the Top 10 HR Influencers to Follow in 2023 by CIO Look Magazine. A sought-after public speaker, she has recently delivered keynote addresses at Unleash America, Wellbeing at Work Summit and the Calgary Influential Business Awards Gala—and has participated in panel discussions across North America. As the workplace changes, Jane believes corporations and leaders must be adaptable, purposeful and innovative.
