René Janssen founded Europe’s leading people’s development company Lepaya in 2018 with the perspective that the right training, at the right time, focused on the right skill, makes organizations productive and enables overall business growth. Lepaya’s upskilling solution measurably develops the powerskills that will not be robotized away, and that really make a difference in one’s career. Prior to that, René learned the ropes of entrepreneurship at Lazada, where he was Executive Vice President in Commercial and HR roles in Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia. Lazada is the e-commerce market leader in all South East Asian countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore; and currently majority-owned by Alibaba. His career began at the Boston Consulting Group, where he specialized in emerging markets strategy / go-to-market, as well as strategy execution. He worked across Africa, Middle East, Asia and Europe. René holds a (cum laude) degree in Maths/Physics from the first international Liberal Arts & Science Honours College in the Netherlands, University College Utrecht; as well as a (cum laude) degree in Philosophy of Science from Utrecht University.
