Plenty of organizations have become very familiar with Zoom over the last two years as the pandemic caused a spike in video calls amid remote working.
The communication platform has surged in popularity and has expanded, in terms of the number of clients and company size, rapidly. In fact, Lynne Oldham, Zoom’s chief people officer told UNLEASH in Octoberthat the company has seen its staff numbers double during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Zoom being incredibly popular and used for work and friendly catch-ups, it may be fair to assume that everyone is an expert at using its interface. However, you may be overlooking the last time you got stuck on mute or struggled to share your screen.
On the back of these kinds of issues, Zoom is introducing the Zoom Learning Center, a free and easily accessible platform.
The intention of this learning function is simple, encouraging users to get the most out of the video conferencing products.
What is the Zoom Learning Center?
The primary offering of the learning center is a robust library of short, self-paced, on-demand courses all about the Zoom platform. However, for those who prefer a human touch, there is also the option to speak to a Zoom professional about getting up to speed.
This new feature has been labeled as a tool for everyone, including people who aren’t customers, and a Zoom license isn’t required to access and learn. The courses themselves are intended to be short and engaging with many running for as little as five minutes.
However, if you need to drop a class as something more urgent comes up, that shouldn’t be a problem. The Zoom courses can be paused and taken up at any time and almost anywhere through mobile devices.
The courses detail more than just standard meetings; they include tips on how to use the product in meetings, events. webinars, on your phone, as well as the ‘Rooms’ functionality. There are also administration courses for those who need to handle the more technical aspects of the platform.
As the company evolves, these courses promise to do the same to keep learners in the know. Additionally, the progress made by people can be shared through certificates and badges that illustrate competencies.
These updates will undoubtedly make the platform a more appealing prospect to most people, and the learning center may just sway some tech skeptics who are still working from home.
